Are the different comps you mention on the same net? I mean, are they usin the same connection? The amount of results one machine can recieve depends on:
how many users are online at that moment
how many of these users have the file you are looking for
what kind of connection you have
what kind of connection status you have
and probably a couple more...

EDIT: To make myself more clear, you can't expect to get the same results in Japan and America and/or if you're using a T3 connection or a 56k modem.
