As suggested earlier, do a Safe start (holding down the shift key) & use disk utility from your utilities folder to repair permissions. You can also try LW beta Pro 4.1.7 released just yesterday. You can dwnld it from your LW dwnld page after logging in (it's at bottom of your personal page.) It may take a couple of restarts & uses of net before java settles down. With the last java update my LW 4.1.4 stopped working properly.

I've heard before that LW support are sometimes slow to respond.
