If you are playing them in limewire then they are going to skip. Try opening them in windows media player for music and avi files tend to work well for video and those open in real player. One of the techs would have to explain why limewire's media player skips, but I would guess that it has something to do with how much the program is having to do, on top of trying to allocate resources to playback a file.
