Salut Meeksy, there are two possibilities:
1) SP2 is the problem
2) The router config is the problem
To test wether it is 1) or 2)
To test if 1) is the problem:
Connect to the internet directly from the modem (unplug the router). If you can't connect and you think everything in Sp2 should be rightly configured, I suggest you to uninstall Sp2 in add/remove programs. Sp2 is a bitch.
If it is not windows XP or firewall, the router is not well configured. I would reread that thread LOTR posted
