OS is short for Operating System. eg: windows 98, XP, mac osx, etc.

You do have a firewall. That will stop you connecting unless you give it permission for Limewire (LW) & Java to pass thru. If you have Windows XP, then it will have its own firewall called Win XP firewall.

Your modem should have a brand name on it somewhere on the box, either on top, the side or on the bottom. Many high speeed broadband & cable modems have internal firewalls. If yours has one & we know the brand & model number, then we can give it instructions to allow LW thru it.

Oh by the way, did you go to that link in my previous post? What happened when you went there? It's a very quick test to see how badly blocked you are. It tests to see if port 6346 is totally blocked. LW uses port 6346.
