I don't have an iPod but I thought it could be used for storage as an xtra. But no, you wouldn't be able to import movies into iTunes on the iPod. mpeg is generally the extension for movie types that have been compressed using the various mpeg types. But then, mp3 is itself a type of mpeg. I have myself dwnlded a concert that was mpeg & it turned out to be an audio file. I had to change the extension to mp3 for it to be playable by the mp3 players. So just to check, make a backup of the file, & then change the extension to mp3 & see if any of your mp3 players can play it to see if it really is actually an mp3 & not a movie. This type of thing is not common. So if you have many of them, chances are they are movies. Remember, iPod is an mp3 music player, not a movie player.
