I suppose it depends which version of Nero you have! If you have the most recent it should be easy to burn to dvd IF the files are mpeg or avi. CODECs is short for compressor/decompressor. These are mini programs you need to load onto your system so a no. of apps can utilise them to play or encode certain types of files (some programs have inbuilt codecs.) AVI is very much like QT. It has a generic video format, yet it can also be a hybrid format incorporating other types of compressed formats. Becoming very popular is avi-divx.
