I turned off the parental controls that come with sbc yahoo dsl, restarted, tried again, and it's fine. I don't understand why the parental controls have an effect on my account since I'm the administrative account, but whatever works for now. But that means the kiddies in the house are unmonitored, at least when Limewire is being used, so if anyone knows a better solution, please help.
