Uh-Oh! Search the word BLUE on the forum. Use the search button above right. Blue screens are usually caused by hardware issues.
Try these things:
1. Repair LimeWire using the Add/Remove Programs utility. Go to Control Panel then Add/Remove Programs & click on Limewire on the Change/Remove button & it comes up with options and one of them is Repair. Try this.
2. Right-clicking the Limewire icon and going to properties and changed compatability setting to Windows 2000.
3. Update your Java
version 1.5 (take the JRE) (This is a later version Java than I originally suggested.)
4. Right-click on the Limewire icon on the desktop and click on Run as. Then it should come up showing the current user and then switch it over to Administrator.
5. Delete the LW Preferences folder called
.limewire (whilst LW is closed!) Found here: Windows NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire OR Windows 98 / ME: Your .limewire folder is in "C:\Documents and Settings\Username"
6. Force IP within LW:

After that, here's some hints: A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW.
Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also
Part B which is even better & last & least are
