No, I can't seem to be able to agree with you here. Just because something doesn't work right for someone it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad product (if you think about it, that's true with just about anything in the world): computer configurations are only too different from one household to another so where something will work perfectly for one will not work for another. If there's an internal system failure it can't be just because of the program: something else must have worked in conjunction to initiate the failure, right?
Sooooo, as much of a pain as this might seem, I suggest at least one of you (you can decide between you who will do it) completely removes LW from their PC. That's uninstalling LW
and deleting the LW preferences folder. Then, the volunteer should update their Java (unless it's already up-to-date) and redld and reinstall LW. After that, they should come back and post the results for the rest: if it works then there's no need to try anything else (I hope)
