ok mod. thanks for your response, but I perhaps didn't explain my concerns accurately. I wouldn't have a problem allowing genuine fellow sharers full browsing access to my shared folders, and I appreciate the usefullness of this as you indicate.

But my concern is that, for instance, my shared folders may be browsed by an RIAA goon. Now assumig I stuffed my shared folders with 100s possibly 1000s of tracks that would make me a target for litigation. Whereas if I negated browsing genuine sharers would still get their specific searches fulfilled and it would make it much more difficult for RIAA goons to see that I was a wortwhile target since they would have to do possibly hundreds of searches to see that I was a big enough target to persue.

does that make sense....? It's based on the rational that if you only share a little you won't get prosecuted but if you share a lot you will. The past and recent cases back this up.

Anyway, I've disable chat and I'm looking into proxy servers...just incase I decide to share a lot.
