Hi scar69,
[edit -- The DOS window must be active when hitting CTRL-Break, not the LimeWire window.]
If you could download the file LimeWireDebug at
http://www.limewire.org/LimeWireDebug.exe . Place it in your LimeWire folder (C:\Program Files\LimeWire) and then double-click on it to start LimeWire. It will open a DOS-box while LimeWire is open so that we can see debug information.
After the box opens, click on the top-left of it and choose 'Properties'. Select the 'Layout' tab in the window that pops up. In this screen, change the 'Height' value in the 'Screen Buffer Size' area to something really large (like 900) and click 'OK' Then click 'OK' on the box that comes up after that (it doesn't matter which radio-button is selected).
Once you've done that, assuming that LimeWire is already in this 'greyed-out' state, make sure the DOS window is active (select it) and then hit Ctrl & Break on your keyboard. The Break key is generally on above 'Page Up', and the key usually says 'Pause' & 'Break' on the same key. Hitting that Ctrl/Break should cause a bunch of stuff to be printed out to the DOS box that opened up.
You can select all that text by clicking the top-left icon in the DOS box again and choose Edit->Mark, then click where the text begins and drag down and to the right until the text ends. It should be highlighted in white. After it's highlighted, click the top-left icon again and choose Edit->Copy. After it's copied, if you could paste the text here, it will be very helpful in figuring out what's going wrong.
My apologies for the extremely long and confusing steps to follow -- I don't know offhand of any easier way to get the information we need right now, but we'll look into ways to make it easier for the future.
Thanks.
