Hi deafguy
Yes you probably will need to forward a port for your D-Link. Although the new version of LW has UPnP which, if your device uses that technology will overcome the issue. However, I use a D-Link & continue to manually forward a port with good results. As you're aware with a lot of net games & also video conferencing, etc. you need to open ports. For LW you need to open
Port 6346 Without knowing your model the best I can do is direct you to
http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm & D-Link is listed at the top of the page. Also see this:
Force IP instructions & sample image Remember you can only forward port 6346 for one computer so any others that use LW would need to have a separate port no. port forwarded (eg: 6348/6342)
Some other hints (except for this thread): A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising Uplds & downlds & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities.
