Most movies available are reduced in size so they fit onto a cd. So, if your dvd player can play vcd's (most can) then you have no problem. Most good burner apps can burn both avi & mpeg/mpg to vcd. Nero & Roxio's Easy CD Creator are the best two. Check the manual or the help menu of your cd burner app. Generally just drop the movie file into the app after selecting vcd/video format & then press burn. It will do all necessary pre-converting before burning to the cd.
