I had this "slow down" prob.

Go to Limewire>Tools>Options
In the left hand column select "speed"
Then tick the box saying "disable ultrapeer capabilities"

I did this and after like 20 seconds everything was fine. It now runs smooth and theres no overprocessing etc. etc.
