THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your help with my query on slowdownloads. I should have indicated my computer's Operating System, etc., but due to my newness to this forum (and forums in general) I did not think to include this information. Please excuse this oversight.
I operate Windows XP Professional on a Cable/DSL connection and live very closely to the port. I am not networked to another computer, and am completely independent.
Thank you again for the help you gave me. I have implemented many of your suggestions and think done I have done as much as I can based on all your information. Consequently, I have found a remarkable difference in speed and connections throughout the last day or so, and am enjoying this new-found experience.
