I tried installing the 1.4.2 version to no avail - the symptoms remained the same. Therefore I tried the 1.5 version but all I thus obtained was the disappearance of the black screen of hate that used to come up in while LW was booting. The window remains blank and unutilisable...
I'm still in need of a solution...
