I just had this happen in a non pushed file and I *think* I may have tracked it down (at least for a non pushed file).
Gnotella uses damn near to 80% to 95% of my resources (at least on my setup, a PII-450, Win2K Adv Server, 4 in, 1 out). What happens is that Gnotella will stop responding for a certain amount of time (as recorded by the Win2K task manager and my own observations) and then unfreeze. I belive during these frezzes packets are droped and that is what is causing the artifacts on the MP3's.
My solution (if you can call it that) is to not use VB, but we can argue over that for ages
Anyway, this just re-emphisises the need for MD5 checksums, as suggested by my post in the suggestions forum.
