Not a good idea having more than one version on your computer. Sometimes one will run in the background whilst the other is open & thus strange things can happen. Next time you open LW, hold down Control, Delete & Alt keys & go to Process Manager & see how many times limewire is listed.

For LW on Drive C & if that's where you save your files, go to Tools>Options>Saving & press Default button & press apply.

I have a suspicion you've got your folders mixed up. I have LW installed on Drive F & save to Drive G without any problems.

You need admin permissions to install & uninstall. Make sure you have permisions to do this & save to where you want to.

2. Go to Tools>Options>Saving & re-check your Save location. Make sure this is correct. Even re-select it & press apply. Now go to Tools>Options>Sharing & add that same folder to your shared list & press the apply button. (By the way, LW 4.2.x had this bug so get rid of it if that's the version or update ... Also there was a security problem with that version up to 4.8. So make sure you've got version 4.8.1

3. It depends on which version of LW you have. For versions 4.4 & earlier you use the Add/Remove Programs control panel to remove it. For later LW versions go to Start menu >Programs>LW & select Uninstaller. *** Before you do this, Control, Delete & Alt keys & go to Process Manager & make sure there are NO limewires listed. If they are then kill the process. You cannot remove LW if it's still active.
