You shouldn't be trying to downld to the desktop. It's not recommended. Choose default save location. LW's menu Tools>Options>Saving & press default & apply buttons.

But yes, you will have a downld folder & another folder called incomplete where all the files that are not fully downlded are stored. Once they are 100% downlded then LW moves them to the downld folder.
