Question unable to connect with peers.

uhhh first of all i registered but i haven't gotten the confirmation email yet. once i do, i'll be logged in as blujeankitty. any replies as blujeankitty are still me. :D

1. windows XP.
2. i have a mcafee firewall, which is disabled (Received incoming this session: true
)
3. 2.39 GHz, 512 MB of RAM.
4. one hard drive (c:\), total disk space is 34.4 GB, free disk space is 13.3 GB.
5. connecting using AOL for broadband 9.0 optimized (cable connection)
6. router is 2.4 GHz 802.11b linksys wireless access point router, i'm not sure about the modem, but it's roughly an inch thick & five inches wide, black, with upside-down triangles as lights that just love to blink :p they are both in proper working order, i can connect to practically anything (instant message servers, websites, AOL, etc, but there's trouble connecting to some sites that use java like {don't laugh} runescape.com)
7. connecting from my home.
8. limewire client 4.8.1 pro, java 1.5.0_02.
9. america online.
10. bug test claims received incoming this session is true.
11. http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml followed these instructions completely & accurately.

my problem:

my quality claims to be turbocharged with all five bars filled & a bright teal color. i can search & successfully locate hundreds of files that match my query, most are four stars & many of them have tons of users downloading.
i've begun many downloads from four star users with numbers anywhere from 50 to 100 & sometimes more (but also sometimes less) & every time, the download refuses to connect to any of those alleged "50 users". i have SEVERAL downloads right now, possibly up to twenty, & only a few of them have even reached percentages above 50 since i started the download days ago. only about three or four are downloading, saying "downloading from 1 host", speed is either 0 or 1 KB/s, & the time estimates at least two hours (for an average sized mp3 file)

i know it's not limewire's fault because at my boyfriend's house, it takes him less than a minute to complete a mp3 download. but there's something wrong with my computer, or connection, or something; but it's getting rather frustrating.

i'm here in hopes that this can be fixed.

thank you all! <3
