2. Your issue is either bad file or you need more codecs to play it. For codecs see:
http://www.land.ee/d_nimo_codec.html or
http://www.free-codecs.com/ or else/& get a backup player that has in-built codecs & plays almost all except the odd wmv file; VLC:

Oh you downlded a complete dvd .. ok missed that. The Audio TS folder is always empty. That's b/c the video & audio are multiplexed together. VLC should still be able to play it. If it can't get any sound .. then not sure ... might be the audio format so if you have a dvd-rw burner you could try burning it & trying it out on your set top player.
