It depends on how you installed LimeWire and which desktop environment you're using. If you installed LimeWire 1.7 using the installer, there should be a symlink called runlime17 (or something similiar). You can then create a desktop or menu link to runlime17 and you should be able to run that.
If you didn't use the installer or have an earlier version of LimeWire that uses the runlime.sh script, then you can either use the solution in the FAQ or you can use an alternative script at:
