I just remembered how I fixed the problem I just uninstalled the newest version of Java (which is what you can download from java.com now) and rebooted. Then I went to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html and downloaded the JRE version and "Boom! Tuff actin' Tinactin" style both versions of Limewire work just fine. And it will now aloow you to upgrade Java when newer versions become available. I don't know why it needs the older version to work before it will work with newer versions but it does.
