Thumbs up Limewire Stops On Blank Language Options Window

I am posting this as a resolution to an issue I had, which at least one other individual reported having here in this forum:

Limewire Stops On Blank Language Options Window

When you install the latest Java Runtime Environment (J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 3), then install Limewire (or vice versa), Limewire will not initialize. It starts with a small, borderless blank white window, which is then quickly overtaken by a larger, bordered window, entitled "Language Options". This window is completely filled in with blank space. It locks up and won't do anything. Uninstalling and reinstalling Limewire does nothing to solve this problem.

Well, I've figured it out: It's not Limewire at all - it's Java.

If you are experiencing this issue, chances are the JRE 5U3 package you've installed is incompatible with your OS, for whatever reason. I'm not even gonna think about tackling that issue, as I don't even care about Sun's Java (it takes way too long to load anyways!) What I do care about is getting my Limewire going, and it can be done! Simply uninstall the latest JRE update and install the previous release, "J2SE Runtime Environment 1.4.2". It's available at http://java.sun.com/ .

'Hope this helps out other poor souls whom find themselves stuck with nothing but an empty window when they execute Limewire.
