No easy answers from what I can see. You could try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire b/c that sometimes spices LW back to life.

Keep in mind dial up is low bandwidth, so use the tips I gave by not over-doing it.
