So you're connected to it. But can you access the internet thru it at all. If not, then you'll need to get the person who is in charge of the network to add your computer as one of the comp's with an internet ability. Whether you require port forwarding is yet to be seen. It will depend on the Netgear device model. Routers tend to use internal like firewalls (called NAT) that block ports except those used for browsing. If it is Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) capable then that should take care of that issue since LW would be able to communicate with it to open a port for it.
