I agree with LOTR. If 4.9.11 is the poster child for LimeWire, please, Keep 4.8.1 Pro around. I am running this BETA in the hopes that it will help better the future, but sorry, 4.9.11 ain't it.
I have accomplished less for my own betterment with these BETA's than I ever did on 4.8.1.

In fact, I am seriously looking at my cable connection and considering DSL. I mean, if I can't utilize even 25% of the download capacity of my cable connection, why have it. I have one machine running a 56K connection but if I match downloads to capabilities I do ok with MP3s. I see no difference in downloading 56k modem versus cable if I am only able to make 1kb/s connections on LimeWire.

4.9.11, when idle, seems to disconnect from the network on the download side, but the uploads are still going. Whe I wake it up, it will show a firewall and then a poor connection. Sometimes it will momentarily freeze.

I tried a variety of settings from default to excessive. While I monitor the program I set myself for a 50 slot download. I am trying for a combined, maintained download speed of at least 100 kb/s. Now I have it as long as I monitor the program. The set it and forget it function doesn't apply here anymore.
