Where did you go to download the installer? What's the file name?

It should be called LimeWireOSX.dmg

If you know how to calculate md5 sums (use the md5 command in the OS X Terminal), for LW basic, MD5 (LimeWireOSX.dmg) = e360ff5314a9ac418766a2edcbacfbe1 . If you get a different md5 sum, you have something other than the LW 4.9.23 basic installer for OS X.
