Snort, one of the most popular open source IDS programs, has rules which stop/detect p2p traffic, which can trigger the firewall to cut you off or just e-mail to the sys admins about what happened.


downloading is serious in college. if you downloaded something they didn't like or you violate some rule, you potentially risk losing a scholarship.
