Thanx for the wisdom provided!
Lepricon, have switched to another random port number. Took a 5 digit cause I once read somewhere that if isps are capping, they're mostlikely to do it on ports *-1000 (?). No luck so far.
You know if the packet size (of the isp or in general) has anything to do with the tcp receive window and related settings XP has? Or are those values that don't relate to each other. I know a thing or two bout computers, but this is on the edge of my knowledge
Lotr, the magnetlink download got to 60k max, so i'm guessing that's bout the max, given my specific LW/comp setup. Is the bandwidth shaping of any given isp to be seen as purely information, or is it something that you can possibily change to get better results?
Sphinx, links provided in last post by lotr are promising. Seems like we have bout the same problem. I'm gonna get in to it and let you know bout my findings. First gonna try searching for 2 or 4 files only and cable/dsl speed only filter. See if content found is still acceptable... Let y'all know.
Thanks again guys, appreciate it
