I'm with you ... being absolutely not very brilliant at computer stuff, I think bugs are really something that have to be sorted out by the developer, and not the user. so afaik debugging is not an option for the user.
Having probably got that all wrong here is what you CAN do . With Limewire completely closed. delete the Preferences folder and when you restart LW will create a fresh preferences folder which, hopefully will be OK.

Please note you will loose other configuration settings including the locations of your shared folders and these will have to be re-entered. Not a big problem ...but a pain if you're not expecting it
