i have down loaded a couple of episodes from a show and when i try to open them the windows media player opens up but nothing plays, why?

also what do i need to do to files to put them on my Mustek player which doesn't take DivX files??

sorry if this is all fairly simple stuff guys but i really appreciate all your help
