What the f*** is dumb about a search for file-extensions? Does it somehow bother you, anyways? If I want some divx-movie, I search for divx and .avi and sort by size - there's no other way to find any good stuff. If I searched for special files (like "blair witch project"), I guess I never would have found anything!
