If you thought you were paying for a year you may have been scammed and only had basic any way. LimeWire clearly states $18.88 for Pro and 6 months of free upgrades.
If you are running Windows XP on your new computer and it has a standard hard drive hookup you should be able to connect a second hard drive to the cable. Windows should recognize the hard drive when you reboot it will rename it D:/drive or whatever you should then be able to search the drive and find the LimeWire in the programs file. Then create a shortcut to your desktop and run LimeWire from the drive it is on. Or you can transfer it to your new hard drive any number of different hard drive tools.
It is advisable to use hard drive tools from the manufacture of your current hard drive. Of course if your old hard drive is toast the you are SOL.
