You were scammed. Limewire Pro costs $18.88US and you get it here:

Now you need to try and get your money back. If you can go to the site you purchased LW from and tell them you know you were scammed and want your money back, also go to your bank/cc company they should have a fraud dept that can help you out. then you should cancel your cc because they have your billing info and could use it for other illegal transactions
The version you got was probably Basic and not Pro, you can check it in Limewire by going to Help>About Limewire(See an example here:
About Limewire) If it doesnt say Pro you didnt get Pro. And you didn't get if from the official site and thats why it doesn't recognise your e-mail. Go here for a list of some of the
Scam Sites that are out there.
You should also delete the version you got from them and d/l the one from the
official site. The version you have could contain adware, malware, ect. Remember Basic is "free" so you wont have to pay again. You should run free for a while before buying Pro so you can work the kinks out.
Now when you d/l the official version you could still have connection problems. If you do then come to the appropriate forum for help.
