File sharing applications are to allow people to exchange files. Companies like Grockster were actively encouraging people to use their application to upload and download copyright material, and it got them into a lot of trouble. Limewire, Bearshare, and other applications, mindful of this, state quite clearly that their applications should not be used to transfer copyright material. Unnacountably there seem to be the odd few who ignore these clearly stated instructions. Tch Tch Tch. Others use p2p networks for exchanging files that are not covered by copyright, are not available in the shops, and of no interest to anyone but themselves. amazing but true
And personally, If I wanted a programme of any sort, I would obtain it from a 100% trusted sourse, and a total stranger on a p2p network does not, somehow, fil the bill
