I had this problem also, and after using Conflict Catcher, I discovered it was due to a conflict between the Contextual Menu Items extension and the Stfinit extension. If you disable the Stfinit extension, using Conflict Catcher or the Extensions Manager control panel, it should work all right. If you don't have the Stfinit extension enabled, and it still crashes, it may be some other system extension causing the problem.
