For best results on G1, make sure you have all other networks disabled. This serves both your purpose & those trying to upload from you. The more bandwidth you have available on G1 the better your search & downld results will be. And if you have people from G1 uploading from you, then your search & downld results will definitely improve ... connecting to various peers you might not have before. Don't forget to allow browsing & chat. This helps find more peers when checking search results.
Remember there's also compressed lossless formats available such as FLAC, ape, apple lossless (m4a files above 320 kbps.) If you need more info about how to convert these formats then just ask!
Keep in mind, people's mindset is slowly moving ... more & more people are gradually starting to share wav/aiff, or compressed lossless formats as suggested above. So don't restrict your searches too much. Any lossless format is as good as the original CD after it's been uncompressed!
Whereas mp3 formats, etc. are lossy & lose quality. Some however, at the highest bit rate of 200->320 kbps are still very good!
Nero & Roxio will both happily convert mp3 to wav or be able to use them to burn to a typical audio cd-r. !!!!
