My husband actually figured out how to fix this. Apparently it is a problem that has nothing to do with LimeWire, but occurs sometimes in the iMac G5 computers when they are set to automatically go to sleep. The computer went to sleep last night with LimeWire and iTunes running, and then today wouldn't recognize the iPod. We rebooted, turned off the setting that makes the computer automatically sleep, and everything was fine! So other iMac G5 users, take note and change the setting under Preferences that makes the computer automatically go to sleep if you are going to be downloading music overnight.
