Did you sort your problem out? It sounds to me like you removed LW using the add/remove control panel which is the WRONG way to uninstall LW. LW has its own uninstaller. Start menu, Programs>LW>Uninstall.
If you reinstall LW, it will uninstall any previous version at the beginning of the installation process. Otherwise, get Crap Cleaner (click on link) Then after cleaning up the registry, then try reinstalling.

Also make sure you have plenty of space to save downlds & all your drives are defragmented.
