Hmm I don't ever recall having seen that before in my 4+ yrs of using LW. But just a few days ago, I upgraded from Mac OSX 10.3.9 to 10.4.4 & whilst last year I rarely had my firewall turned on, I now have it turned on with extra options of ... Block UDP Traffic & Enable Stealth Mode, whilst having port 6346 clear for LW. Also I am manually port forwarded thru my D-Link router.
I admit I haven't used LW much on my mac over the past 7 weeks. But tonight I opened it & noticed the same error of : "Range Unavailable" for people trying to join my queue for uploads from me in my monitor window. These people would very quickly show up at the top of the list & then drop off. Which suggests it's because they're unable to join the queue. BTW I only have a 256/64 connection. I tested it tonight whilst LW was open & uploading & whilst spending a few mins trying to load a page on the forum & I still got a 58 kbps "real speed" result from a speed test which is surprising considering. So I generally only have one person uploading from me. Sometimes two if I'm not browsing (hey I was on dial up only 16 mths ago. lol)
But back to the point. Sometimes the no. would grow up to 6 or so with this status. Sometimes just a couple. I was wondering at 1st whether it was related to my firewall settings. Despite my bug test show 'True' for incoming. I was also wondering if it was a new phenomena, so I searched the forum before posting & found this recent thread. I also found this:
Problems downloading (Phex but not directly related other than what it hints at being unreachable) & Stief's reference to it here
LimeWire 3.7.8 Beta
BTW I also found this
416 response, even though ranges overlap
I've heard from others attempting to direct connect to me that I generally only show 2 stars connection quality. That in itself may figure in this. But I'm just not sure why I haven't seen or can't remember having seen this before when it's happening to me at present at such a frequent & consistent rate.
Sample below is the top of the upload pane of the Monitor window:
