I'm a little out of my territory here because I'm not a linux user. But it sounds to me like your LW prefs might be corrupt. Try deleting them whilst LW is closed. AFAIK for linux your LW prefs are found here: ~/.limewire

However, after having deleted them & now using LW 4.10, your new prefs will probably be called limewire & not .limewire
