If you are trying to convert a dvd to an avi or mpg, most people use Flask. Its the best program I've used and it does a good (although time consuming) job. What I usually do is use a program called DeCSS which will rip the dvd onto your harddrive (takes about 8gigs of space) and then i will compress it using flask. it reduces my times from about 10 hours to about 4! I think the program was made illegal, but you might be able to find it somewhere. Try <A href="http://astalavista.box.sk">astalavista.box.sk</A>. They have a bunch of illegal stuff (scan for viruses first cause it's a hacker site). If you can't find it and you want it, the file is only 124k unzipped, so I can email it to you.
