Okay, I've spent most of my morning trying to search out the solution to this problem and I need to ask for help before I loose more of my hair from the pulling.
I just started using LW and have downloaded a few movies, some music and a file or two. Everything but the movies work just perfect. Each time I try to open a movie (be it a AVI or MP4/3) I get the same message:

I think I understand that it's the codec in the QuickTime? Is that correct? Where and how do I install the correct codec so that I can watch these damn things?

Also I have tried to play them in several different media players and none of them are working.
