What are you playing the songs on? and does this happen each time you play them? The first time I play a song in iTunes it tends to play a short bit, adjust the volume and then play the rest. Next time it plays this doesn't happen. I think this happens with the Limewireplayer .. but much more frequently, so I stopped using it ages ago.
