Limewire won't allow me to type in the search box *if and only if the keyboard layout is set to something nonstandard.* (like Dvorak or non-US English)

The typing problem also occurred during the installation process, so I suspect it's java-related.

I see some other threads where people have had problems with this; maybe try dorking the keyboard layout?
