Open it from your Start menu -> Programs > LW menu
For pro, if you purchased it less than 6 mths ago then you can still get updates. You can check your payment details as that will have a phone no. you can use to contact LW sales to sort out your email issue. But if you purchased more than 6 mths ago then your name will no longer be on their database.
Does the short-cut have a different icon or does the program also have a different icon. Check the actual program. Generally found in C:\Program Files\Limewire
If it doesn't, then your shortcuts might be corrupt. Delete them & recreate them.
If it does have a different icon, then find info about it. Select it, go to File menu ->Properties & check what it says about type of file or what program opens it. Then hopefully you can find the culprit that's affected LW. But I'm wondering if you're trying to open the incorrect file. In the example below, you'll see there's only one true program in the LW program folder. It is the smaller one (no. #1.) Whereas the large one is actually some form of Java support. You'll notice a variety of assorted icon types in there. |
