LW is over 90% designed with Java. I know it's difficult for you to understand, but LW is acting as the catalyst but is not the underlying problem. The problem is hidden somewhere else. It's just due to the at times intense resouces LW needs that it brings that problem to the fore from wherever it's hiding.
If this was a bug with LW, then 20 million other windows users would suffer the same problem.
I don't know your system & what components, brands & models of hardware & firmware, or what programs you have installed, or what programs you have had installed but still have remnants of their existence still remaining in your registry, etc.
As you'll see from the very 1st link I gave you, there's plenty of links discussing this type of issue due to a no. of reasons. It's something windows machines tend to suffer if there's a component, be it a driver or hardware or graphic settings or whatever that is not compatible.
Perhaps you should try Frostwire or Phex instead.
