Went away on Sunday determined to find out how to do this. Found a great site call afterdawn.com which gave me great guides and links to softare for converting. downloaded avi2dvd and another burner... all FREE. downloaded a 2 part avi film from limewire... converted it to dvd with avi2dvd and burnt it.

Now getting ready to watch movie on dvd player.

From knowing nothing about downloading films yet alone converting them, just by using this forum and one or two similar forums I got it sorted and am very very happy!
